So I went down to the range today straight after lectures so I could shoot my challenge with Chris.
Put my bow together (but forgot to check it with my bracing guage), and then we shot sighters.
1st end of sighters: Something sounded wrong with my bow...
I asked people if I was right for the 2nd shot, then checked my bracing height... it was between half and three-quaters of an inch out :s
I fixed my bracing height.
2nd end of sighters: Something still didnt feel right... so I checked everything was tight, checked tiller and nocking point... They werent where they were last time, but not horribly out.
Anyway... my arrows werent going in the middle, they were high IIRC, so I spent that end trying to get my sight right.
1st end of competition: I was still playing with my sight, didnt do anything fantastic or horrible...
2nd end of competition: grouped off to the right in the 8... no idea why, but it was a nice group (10-sized) and that 24 left me with almost no chance of winning, and on a 50 1st half dzn.
Shot the last 2 ends: My sight was definitely not in the right place, but I was fed up by this point and just aimed off... it worked for me and I shot a 55 half dzn.
I lost the competition 105 - 110... (learn to add numbers bigger than 10 please Rory )
About an hr later, I was still trying to work out why the hell my bow wasnt feeling right, and why the tuning was all wrong (centreshot didnt seem right either)...
Anyway, I packed up my bow and thats when I realised...I'd put the wrong limbs on the bow
