This is me trying hard not to do my tutorial work before I go to London this weekend......... Its all calculations and units, and a presentation....... And I'm really not in the mood to do any of it at the moment. So decided to post recipes instead.........

250g of porridge oats (ideally half of this amount should be whole rolled oats, but they're expensive......) 150g butter/margerine 75g sugar 75g golden syrup + anything you want to put in them!!!!!
-Melt the golden syrup and butter/margerine in the microwave or in a bain mari. -Mix oats with melted butter/margarine, golden syrup & sugar and anything else you're putting in!! -Bake at 175/180oC for chewy flapjack or at 190/200oC for crunchy, for about 25mins. (time is pretty flexible...... temperature needs to be accurate!!! and the oven needs to be preheated before you put the flapjack mix in)

1 generous or 1.5 level cups of flour 1 large size(from the box) egg or 2 if small eggs 0.5-0.75 cup of sugar 0.5-0.75 cup of milk 1 teaspoon of baking powder per egg a dash of oil for binding
+ whatever you want in them!!!
Some people suggest you add a small amount (about half a cup of melted butter)
-Mix all the ingrediants together, it should be quite a lumpy mix. -Spoon into muffin cases -Bake for about 20 mins at about 200oC, or until well risen and until a skewer inserted comes out clean (except for any melty bits!)

Do you preheat the oven for that?

It helps to heat things up a bit, but it's not advisable in the kitchen of a shared house.

Take one piece of bread. Put in toaster. Toast. Eat.
If feeling adventurous, replace bread with breadx2.
